CAMPING

  • Public camping is available in the town of Neligh. Details here.
    • Riverside Park: Camping Pads are $13/day, first-come, first-serve with electric and water hook-ups, sewage dump, and Wi-Fi access. Old school camping (aka tents) is also available for $5/day first-come, first-serve. Call (402) 887-4066 for more information.
    • Fred Penn Park: Tent camping is available with electricity and a new tornado shelter bath house. Call (402) 887-4066.
    • Grove Lake Wildlife Management Area: Just outside of Royal, Nebraska — located 20 miles from Neligh. Campsites are available with restrooms and drinking water but no electric hook-ups.
  • Public Campgrounds in Norfolk (35 miles / 40 minutes from Neligh):
    • Maskenthine Lake and Recreation Area: Open year around, Electric pads 30 & 50 amp East of Norfolk on Hwy 275, watch for sign between Norfolk and Stanton then 2 miles south (402) 439-2046

    • Off Road Ranch: Electric pads 2900 Old Hwy 8 – South of Norfolk off Highway 24 (402) 844-5044

    • TaHaZouka Park: Season April 15-October 15. Park amenities: bathhouse, electricity,playground, trout fishing, ball fields, shelters, 24 court horseshoe complex, sand volleyball, and 4 cabins for rent (daily use only).In the off-season campers may park outside the campground along the road and plug into the power pedestals at a reduced rate.     • Willow Creek State Recreation: 100 camping pads, 84 with electrical hookups. State park permit required. Located 10 miles northwest of Norfolk near Pierce (402) 329-4053
