Pipeline Fighters to Protest Mitt Romney Appearance in Hastings
with Tea Party Senate Candidate Ben Sasse
Mitt “I will build that pipeline if I have to myself” Romney can meet face-to-face with farmers, ranchers in the path of risky tarsands pipeline
Hastings, Nebraska — Pipeline Fighters will attend the public rally in Hastings on Monday featuring Tea Party U.S. Senate candidate Ben Sasse and two-time failed GOP Presidential hopeful Willard “Mitt” Romney.
During his failed 2012 Presidential bid, Romney said he would have approved the Keystone XL pipeline on “day one” of his hypothetical presidency, adding, “I will build that pipeline if I have to myself.”
Along with the 1%-ers from Nebraska and out of state whom Sasse would seem to be courting with this campaign appearance from Romney, Mitt will have the chance to meet face-to-face with farmers and ranchers who are fighting to protect land and water they have stewarded for generations, standing up to TransCanada and their Republican cronies pushing for this risky tarsands pipeline.
Pipeline Fighters will let Mitt know that his offer of assistance on the pipeline could have been put to good use down in Texas, when TransCanada had to replace 75% of welds that were faulty non-union work on the southern leg of Keystone XL.
Folks are encouraged to bring a sign for the candidate or issue of their choice, and gather outside the Hastings City Auditorium at 4:45 p.m. on Monday.
