UPDATE: Bold Nebraska director Jane Kleeb was invited to participate in an event at The White House on Monday, Oct. 3, and is so sorry she will no longer be able to give the keynote address.

Tom Genung, the chairman of the Nebraska Easement Action Team will speak in her place. The N.E.A.T / Nebraska Easement Action Team is the collective of landowners that banded together and refused to sell their land to TransCanada for Keystone XL. Tom and his wife Cathie have been present at nearly every Bold Nebraska event since the beginning of the#NoKXL pipeline fight, and bring tremendous insight on building our unlikely alliance that defeated the pipeline.

Tom will deliver the opening lecture at the Oct. 3 kickoff for “Elders for the Earth: a Retreat in the Spirit of Chataqua,” Oct. 3-6 at Mahoney State Park.

Organized by Nebraska Interfaith Power & Light, the event will see local elders coming together to learn and share collective wisdom in informative, fun and creative community building ways. (Geared to 50+ but all welcome!)

Other workshop presenters will include Chuck Hassebrook, Sen. Ken Haar, Don Wilhite, and Nancy Williams and Susan Whitfield from No More Empty Pots in Omaha.
