Omaha lawyer Patrick Runge answers that question and sheds even more light on the debate over Nebraska’s restrictive abortion bill in his Alternet post “Nebraska’s Abortion Notification Bill is Stillborn.”

Nebraska’s LB 594 created a list of procedures and screenings that doctors providing abortions in the state must comply with. The bill also sets up doctors who provide abortions as sitting targets for lawsuits if they do not follow LB 594 to the letter. Planned Parenthood recently filed and was granted an injunction against LB 594 which was slated to go into effect July 19th.

As debate between the pro-life and pro-choice camps is stirred in the state, Runge takes an analytical look at the motives and tactics behind LB 594, asking and answering some very bold questions.
