Rare Mountain Lions Sighted; Time To Hunt: A breeding population of 22 mountain loins are being kept in the Pine Ridge area, and every once in a while someone will see another in a separate part of the state. They basically vanished after the 19th century, and the sightings have just started picking up in the early 90s. Nevertheless, the state game and parks commission has deemed the animal fit for hunt. The group recently approved a trial season starting next January to kill a limited number of mountain lions and, you know, see where things go from there. Read more here.
