The latest cartoon from Neal Obermeyer is a twist on an ad promoting the upcoming John C. Fremont Days festival in Fremont, Nebraska. The city enacted a law designed to prevent undocumented immigrants from renting housing that was recently upheld by a federal appeals court. The law also “requires police to check the immigration status of anyone they arrest or detain if they have a reasonable suspicion that the person is not legally in the country.”
