Heading to Paris for the U.N. global climate change talks at the Conference of Parties (COP)?
You’ll likely be burning over a ton of CO2 during your round-trip flight overseas, but here’s a creative way to offset that carbon while helping to protect land and water:
PARIS CARBON OFFSET: Your donation will offset the carbon burned on your flight to Paris with a certified carbon offset program by Nebraska-based Arbor Day Foundation, with a portion also going to purchase trees we’ll plant along the path of the Keystone XL pipeline, to assist in offsetting future carbon emissions.
We used a Carbon Neutral Flight Calculator to determine the total tons of CO2 that are burned on a round-trip flight to Paris from North America, and the cost of Arbor Day Foundation’s third-party-certified carbon offsets ($10/ton), to determine the cost to offset an average flight to Paris from North America (~$15).
A portion of your donation will also help offset future carbon emissions, via the purchase of trees through Arbor Day Foundation that Bold Nebraska will plant in the spring along the path of the Keystone XL pipeline.

If you’re not going to Paris for the climate talks, you can also participate by boldly committing to offset a year of carbon emissions from your car (average = 4.7 metric tons of CO2). The Arbor Day Foundation’s third-party-certified offsets cost $10/ton = $47 to offset your car’s emissions for a year.
You may also go above and beyond offsetting your carbon emissions by making a donation to support Bold Nebraska’s ongoing work to protect our land, water and climate for future generations. Just enter any additional donation sum in the “Other” Donation Amount field.
