A coalition of local grassroots groups in Iowa is organizing opposition to the proposed Bakken oil pipeline that would run through 17 Iowa counties. The 30-inch-diameter "Dakota Access" pipeline proposed by Texas-based Energy Transfer Partners would carry at least 320,000 barrels per day. Join marchers trekking cross-country with the Great March for Climate Action, Iowa Citizens for Community Improvement and local citizens for a rally on Thursday, Aug. 14 in Newton, Iowa at the First Presbyterian Church. Bold Nebraska director Jane Kleeb will also join to address the event via Skype.
